COLUMBIA—(BUSINESS WIRE)– Monday, August 22, 2022 – Back in March, The Diversity Consortium launched a new healthcare benefits package that allows XBEs (Women, Minority, LGBTQ, Veteran, and Disabled Owned Enterprises) to provide affordable healthcare benefits to their employees while simultaneously gaining a competitive advantage over non-XBEs who cannot access these valuable services. The cornerstone of this new service offered only to XBEs is a system of membership-model Direct Primary Care (DPC) supplemented by major medical and other insurance coverages to help manage each XBE employee’s financial risk.

The Diversity Consortium is proud to announce they have partnered with Aflac to offer Supplemental Accident and Supplemental Critical Illness coverages as an optional addition to the Health Plan’s DPC core. While primary care offers routine healthcare visits and proactive wellness, employees remain vulnerable to the exorbitant cost of receiving care under worst case scenarios. For example, an XBE employee’s DPC membership does not help them if they need to visit the emergency room after hours or suffer a critical accident at work. Aflac’s world class customer service and coverage are now here to help ensure that XBE employees are not left helpless to pay the hospitable bill when life happens.

Randi Ferguson, Aflac’s Southeast District Manager, loves the way that the XBE Health Plan aligns with Aflac’s mission and values. “Our Aflac team is excited to work alongside the Diversity Consortium to bring support and protection to all XBEs,” she remarked. “Our goal is to provide ‘big business benefits’ at ‘small business costs’. This partnership with the XBE Health Plan will not only help XBE employees and their families with out-of-pocket costs and everyday living expenses, but will give the business owner strategic tools for growth as well.”  The Diversity Consortium and Aflac are rolling out the XBE Health Plan first in South Carolina before expanding it to North Carolina, Georgia, and the rest of the U.S. XBE owners in South Carolina can visit www.thediversityconsortium.com for more information.
